I’m looking forward to seeing where the journey ends next year and what other new stories Mr. Kirk may have in store for us.

I was fully engaged from page one of book one until the last chapter. Excellent read and a great use of characters with emotions and how they impact their choices and actions. The story line is strait up the tale of a hero saving the kingdom. Magic, or the source had good boundaries but felt limitless in all bit the main character. This is the book series I have encouraged several friends to go check out. Read it!
“Worlds Edge” is the second book in Ryan Kirk’s “Nightblade” series – which I believe is a planned trilogy. Kirk’s first book was an impressive debut and this follow up is every bit as good as the first. Both books will easily hold their own against anything else out there in the fantasy genre right now. In this second episode, Ryuu and Moriko are attacked by a strange new type of warrior and they must embark on separate journeys to try and get answers. While this is happening, the three kingdoms stand on the brink of a civil war and a new massive army from outside of the kingdoms march toward them all.
Kirk continues to load up his story with new characters that are terribly interesting in their own right, all while further endearing Ryuu and Moriko to the reader. While this fantasy series might not be as epic in its scope as Sanderson’s “Stormlight Archive” or Weeks “Lightbringer” series, it is compelling in its own way. Perhaps it’s the beautifully simple magic system, or maybe it’s the impossible situations that the two main characters find themselves facing that makes them so relatable. Whatever it is, these first two books are captivating and very hard to put down. I’m excited to read the final book when it comes out and will certainly be purchasing whatever else Kirk releases in the future. This series is extremely good. Buy with confidence.
I was impressed by the first book--the stark realities for the players and protagonists, the loss of seemingly key personalities, the humanity of the story, as well as the reality of war and the thirst of some for power.
This is a good story at its heart. An adventurous, action packed, and romantic story worth the read.
There are three books in this series. Each one can be read as a stand alone but you do know that there is another one and you want to read it also. The author knows how to keep you interested in the story line and even when he switches from one story line to the other, he keeps you interested. It is worth the read.
Easy read, smooth, flows right along, if you're a voracious reader, perhaps too quick but I read at night before bed so a few chapters a night lasted me a week & a couple days. Didn't review the 1st book, but obviously, I liked it enough to get the 2nd & I'm enjoying the progression of the storylines & the world building. Its a little light on combat description but I know myself, that can be difficult to write to it would be a preference & really doesn't affect the book. I like the change in the hero's relationship because that's realistic & my only part I could 'complain' about is that the build up to the big finish stops & will continue in the next book, but that's cool, I'll buy it right away.
Ryuu and Akira...how will the dilemma end. Will the Southern Kingdom survive the invasion by the Western Kingdom? What danger is heading towards them from the Azarians? The writing is so well done that you hurt with every cut of a blade. Each fight brings new knowledge to a nightblade. I am immersed in the story. Epic tale unfolding. I highly recommend the Nightblade series. Now onto book three...
I really enjoyed this book! This was even better than the first book Night Blade. I recommend this for any fans of Night blade, or anyone who enjoys suspense, action and adventure
I really enjoyed the Character Development throughout the story, mostly with Miriko. She really blossoms as a character, and I can't wait to see what happens in the third book with Moriko and Ryuu!
